Our learners engage through:
Myriad of Choices
Engaging Activities
Passionate Instructors
Community workshop instructors are volunteers passionate about the topic they are teaching. Curriculums are decided by partnering organizations, FoLib and PacificSTEM.
On top of our intensive curriculums, ELC offers Community Workshops to the public. All Community Workshops are free-of-charge and topics change every 6 to 10 weeks, allowing all learners to experience many different fields and studies.
Every proposed curriculum is reviewed and approved by experienced docents prior to approving Community Workshops.
The workshops cover a wide range of topics and proficiency. We offer very introductory and easy-to-follow activity and learning for the youngest grades, as well as more technical topics and methods for older grades.
Most of the workshops aim to introduce new topics to novice learners and are designed to allow all students to understand and engage. Learners can experience a variety of topics that are and are not covered in schools to allow them find subjects and dream careers they can be passionate about.
Because we accept proposals from volunteers of all ages and experiences, the possibilites of our Community Workshops are endless!
We have had workshops in subjects such as biology, programming, cybersecurity, etc.
We have also had out-of-the-box topics such as dog nutrition, stock trading, career planning, how to write screenplay, and more.
